Abstract

In Korea, long-term care insurance for the elderly with disabilities has started as the fifth of social insurance since July of 2008. Therefore, Korean government cultivates new care giver having a national licence to support the elderly with disabilities since February of 2008. However, new care giver with licence has a lot of matters even though there are rosy propaganda activities of Korean government. Hence, this study attempted to analyze the job satisfaction of care giver working both long-term care and home care service center. The important reason of the study is that, it cannot be carried out without quality service of care giver for the elderly with disabilities at both centers. For that reason, the study has found matters and improved ways of care giver with national licence related to job satisfaction. There are obtained results through the study. Firstly, majority of care givers with national licence have status such as low income, low level of schooling and middle age group even though they are professional. It means that care giver is not a professional job, but it is a social employment to create work place based on low income. Secondly, care giver’s job satisfaction of the home care service center appeared higher in level rather than long-term care centers in all of the effective factors including job, relationship with superiors, income, promotion, and work place except relationship with colleagues. Thirdly, most care givers at both care centers are temporary and in contractual position as being unstable rather than regular status. Fourthly, effective factors are based on work place present relationship between superiors and care givers, work place. For that reason, both long-term and home care service centers have different sizes and service mode.
